Who can enter NAHSF
All Home Schools are welcome to participate in the North Alabama Homeschool Science and Engineering Fair. This fair is for the home school groups of North Alabama. However, I want every student who desires to do a project to have the opportunity to advance as far as possible. So if you are not a North Alabama school (or student), we will still be glad for you to enter our fair.
We want all students that enter our fair to also qualify to enter the ISEF affiliated regional fair and be eligible to go on the Intel ISEF. For this reason we will require that all projects entered have the ISEF official approval forms properly filled out and signed. There are 7 regional fairs in Alabama. So even if you are not in the North region then you can still enter another regional fair.
The ISEF affiliated fairs start with the 5th or 6th grade and go to the 12th grade. However I have heard that ‘Practice makes perfect’ so I want all students from K to 12th grade to enter NAHSF. Giving the K to 4th grade students some practice before they get in the regional and international competitions will develop their skills and confidence.
